October 15-17
Please join us for a weekend of breath, chanting, asana and soaking in the healing mineral waters of Wilbur, with Sarana Miller and Guest Chef Charlie Cascio. |
 |
Charlie has cooked throughout Europe, including Germany, France, Belgium, and Spain. He has worked as a personal private chef and has been head chef for numerous restaurants. Charlie has taught natural food cooking seminars to individuals, restaurants, and health professionals throughout Europe and the United States. He continues to cook for large conventions to develop natural health food products and recipes, and to teach courses on cooking, including cooking with raw foods. |
Charlie worked as the head chef and kitchen manager for the Esalen Institute, in Big Sur, California from 1998 through 2004 and continues to work for Esalen as a consultant and instructor. He lives on the Northern California Coast on a self-sustaining organic farm where he raises his own vegetables, chickens, goats, and honeybees and makes his own cheeses and olive oil. |
Come strengthen your practice while relaxing and rejuvenating your body and mind. We'll step back from our daily routines and retreat to this sacred land, home to healing waters that have been used for renewal for centuries.
Students will practice yoga on Wilbur's beautiful yoga deck, cradled in nature with the sounds of nature and the Wilbur creek. We will begin each day with chanting and pranayama, followed by breakfast and then an active morning session. In the afternoon there will be time for bathing, hiking, massage and personal time. We will gather in the late afternoon for a restorative session followed by a delicious dinner. |

Human Touch Awareness

with Lena Jdanova, CMT, CHT
-
Elevate your state of presence and awareness
-
Enjoy a mindful meditative experience
-
Connect with yourself and others on a deeper level
-
Learn meaningful ways of communication and connection with self and others
-
Develop healing abilities that you can use every day
-
Heal yourself, heal others
-
Learn how to protect and nurture a loving heart
This three-hour workshop is designed to elevate your state of presence and mindfulness, in particular in relation to the healing abilities of human touch. It teaches you to use feedback from a partner to improve the quality of your connection to yourself and others through touch and other means. Participants will learn how to use intention and awareness to enhance their ability to interact in a more meaningful and satisfactory way.
We will practice a series of exercises done individually, with a partner and in a group, with the possibility of sharing our experiences after each exercise. The exercises are based on awareness of the contact, awareness of the response created by the contact, sharing of things observed during the contact, and awareness of how the sharing changes one's state.
Please contact Wilbur for workshop schedule.

Complementary Alternative Medicine

Wilbur Hot Springs is pleased to introduce Pnina Zoharah, who is returning to Wilbur to share her healing massage work. Pnina (pronounced P'nina) shares her massage philosophy:
"My massage is very therapeutic and relaxing. I believe that a healing touch brings the client to awareness of their body. I assist my client in whatever they feel in the moment of the massage. I believe that a massage session can be not only relaxing but sometimes an opportunity to change the relationship with the body, mind and spirit."
|

|
Pnina is trained in Swedish and Deep-Tissue Massage remedies and has a private practice in the Bay Area.
Swedish Massage (SM) uses long, flowing and connecting strokes. SM has been shown to be helpful in reducing pain, joint stiffness, and improving function in individuals with muscle and joint discomfort. SM may also be helpful in individuals with poor circulation. SM work varies greatly--the strokes can be relaxing or applied deeply.
Deep-Tissue Massage (DTM) is designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue or fascia. DTM has been shown to be helpful for individuals experiencing consistent pain, individuals who are involved in heavy physical activity and individuals who are searching for relief of muscular-skeletal disorders and complaints.
For more information about Pnina, visit her website, www.movementandspirit.com.
